We make electrification of the industry a reality.
Micropower is a leading international provider of industrial charging and energy storage solutions, headquartered in Växjö, Sweden. Leveraging strong in-house expertise, we develop and manufacture intelligent lithium-ion batteries, charging systems, and power conversion solutions. Our operations span Sweden, the United States, Germany, Finland, and Italy.
Do you want to grow a strategically important segment and help customers within public safety, emergency response, civil preparedness, critical infrastructure and total defense applications access reliable charging and energy solutions? We are now looking for a Global Director, Rescue, Safety & Defense, based in Germany.
What you’ll do
The Global Director leads the strategic growth and market development of Micropower’s Rescue, Safety & Defense segment across international markets. Your main task is to grow the business vertical by identifying GAPs, customer needs and new business opportunities and translate these into concrete business strategies, commercial priorities and solution road maps. The customers operate in mission-critical environments, including public safety, emergency response, civil preparedness, critical infrastructure and total defense environments. To be successful you need to build strong relationships with strategic customers, partners, industry associations and key stakeholders. You work closely with the regional business teams as well as Product Management and R&D.
Flexible work location: Join us at our office in Busdorf if you are based in the region or work remotely from anywhere in Germany.
What you’ll get
You get a unique opportunity to build a global business segment, with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and the freedom to drive your own initiatives. The role is highly visible with significant influence on business growth, extensive international exposure and regional collaboration.
Requirements
We believe that you hold a university degree in Business, Engineering, Technology or a related field, or have gained equivalent experience through a successful commercial career. You have extensive experience in business development, sales, strategic account management, or market development (8–10+ years), as well as proven experience within Rescue, Safety, Public Safety, Civil Preparedness, Total Defense, mission-critical, or related industries. To succeed in this role, you need a strong track record of driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and delivering commercial results. You have excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, and are fluent in English. German language skills are considered an advantage. Experience from energy storage, battery charging, power electronics, or other technology-driven B2B industries is also an advantage. The position is based in Germany and requires eligibility to work in Germany. This is a global role with regular international travel, approximately 30-50%.
Who you are
You are self-motivated, strategic and business-oriented with the ability to identify market opportunities, understand customer needs and translate insights into sustainable growth initiatives. You build credibility and trust across functions, regions and stakeholder groups, and you are comfortable driving results through collaboration and influence rather than formal authority. You are proactive, relationship-oriented and results-driven, with the curiosity and ownership needed to challenge existing ways of working and turn market opportunities into measurable business impact.
Our core principles of presence and responsibility guide us as we progress with dedication and sincerity. At Micropower we fuel people to power growth.
Join us in the exciting journey to a more sustainable future!
